In 18th century American taverns, a single clay pipe was often shared among patrons, lit and re-lit on a tabletop candle, and passed from friend to friend during a communal smoke sesh. The extra-long stem cools the smoke before it enters the mouth.
Pipe is a long 16" with a 1.5" deep bowl (.75" diameter at opening) that tapers down to just .25" at the mouthpiece.
Made in Germany.
Please Note: When these pipes were passed between friends in the 18th century taverns, they would break off the end of the stem after each use to keep the pipe sterile. Because of this, the Gandalf pipe is fragile and should be handled with care.
